Job summary

RMB Products is seeking a Surface Prep Operator (3rd shift) in Fountain, CO to prepare metal and other surfaces for coating and painting. Responsibilities include abrasive blasting, masking, material handling, and quality inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of related manufacturing experience, plus forklift and crane/rigging certifications or a path to obtain them through company training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of surface preparation, abrasive blasting, painting preparation, or related manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal and other surfaces for coating, lining, or painting by performing abrasive blasting and other approved surface preparation methods in accordance with work instructions and quality standards.
• Mask, protect, and prepare parts, components, and surfaces to ensure coating and lining materials are applied only to designated areas and meet customer and Company specifications.
• Load, unload, move, and position materials and products using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as required.
• Inspect prepared surfaces to verify cleanliness, surface profile, and readiness prior to coating or painting operations.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of blasting equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Read and follow work orders, process instructions, and production schedules to complete assigned work accurately and on time.
• Identify and report equipment issues, damaged parts, or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with other production, finishing, or material handling duties as assigned.
