Brenntag North America, Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse activities in a chemical environment.
You will lead a crew, ensure safety, manage offloading, receiving, labeling, storage, and loading of drums and totes, and coordinate with dispatch and carriers to keep shipments on track. The role requires 3+ years of supervisory experience in chemicals, strong communication, and the ability to work in a non-climate-controlled plant setting.
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily activities. It is the responsibility of the Shift Supervisor to ensure that raw materials are offloaded, received in, packaged and labeled properly, stored, staged, and loaded on trucks. The Shift Supervisor will ensure that the shift operates smoothly and safely while accomplishing all required work each shift.
Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree in a related field a plus. 3+ years of supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing/distribution or industrial environment required. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a strong leadership ability and be able to work as part of a team. Must have good analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities. Ability to promote a positive safety culture and lead by example. Must possess working knowledge of chemical labeling, transferring, packaging, handling, and storage. Must possess knowledge of DOT, OSHA, DHS, EPA, FRA, ISO, AND HSE regulations and laws. Comfortable with the use of a Forklift and the ability to operate plant equipment. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (i.e. respirators, Tyvek suits, protective boots, hearing protection, eye protection etc.). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear, or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk and stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment. Plant environment and exposure to chemicals.
