Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms seeks a 3rd Shift Shipping Supervisor to lead the shipping department, ensuring on-time operations, safety and quality compliance. You will direct personnel, optimize workflows and uphold SOPs, GMPs, USDA and OSHA standards.

You will mentor team members, implement improvements, manage performance actions, and coordinate with other departments to meet goals in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; an Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum four years in a supply chain or shipping environment; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, timekeeping, policy adherence and conflict resolution abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to interact across levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage department by establishing procedures and adjusting to meet shipping schedules and budgets.
• Oversee day-to-day activities for efficient transport, storage, loading and unloading of goods.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies.
• Mentor, coach and train employees, with cross-training and development in mind.
• Administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions fairly.
• Promote safety initiatives and ensure PPE usage to maintain a zero-accident culture.
• Ensure docks and storage facilities are organized and compliant with guidelines.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet location goals; learn any applicable union rules.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
