Job summary

CSP Composite in Carey, Ohio, is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead our inbound and outbound logistics in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

You will coordinate material transfers with customers, suppliers, and transportation partners; monitor receipt and documentation; manage interdepartmental material movement; and drive continuous improvement through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in shipping/receiving in automotive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of automotive logistics and Tier 1 supplier standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with shipping/receiving procedures and compliance regulations.

Essential Job Functions

• Lead by example in promoting a “safety-first” culture, ensuring all team members operate in a safe and compliant manner.
• Coordinate and execute material transference plans with external partners, including customers, suppliers, and transportation providers.
• Monitor and confirm the receipt of shipments and ensure accurate documentation of inbound and outbound logistics.
• Manage the interdepartmental transport of materials within the facility to ensure timely and efficient operations.
• Understand operational impacts and conduct root cause analysis to support continuous improvement.
• Develop, communicate, and deliver training programs, gather employee feedback, and recommend operational improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions that improve logistics performance and reduce costs.
• Build and maintain strong business partnerships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
• Demonstrate logical, systematic thinking and apply creative problem-solving techniques to overcome challenges.
• Foster teamwork, morale, and development of staff through coaching and mentorship.
• Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping, tracking, and reporting of shipments and receipts.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall plant and logistics goals.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime as required to meet shipping schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a shipping/receiving environment within automotive manufacturing.
• Experience with automotive logistics and Tier 1 supplier standards is required.
• Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures, transportation methods, and compliance regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong attention to detail with exceptional problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, accomplish goals, and implement effective solutions.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
