Job summary

POLYCORP LTD in California is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Shift Manager for the 3rd shift to oversee rubber production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will lead a team, optimize processes, manage costs, and coordinate with maintenance, QA and R&D. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in rubber manufacturing leadership are preferred; bonus eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Rubber Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of rubber manufacturing experience with supervisory/managerial responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of rubber compounding, molding (compression, injection, transfer), and curing processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 or other quality management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficient in production planning software and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all rubber manufacturing operations to ensure timely production and delivery.
• Manage the entire production cycle including mixing, extrusion, molding, curing, and finishing.
• Implement and maintain manufacturing best practices to ensure high-quality output and minimal waste.
• Monitor and optimize plant performance through KPIs (efficiency, yield, downtime, etc.).
• Develop and lead a team of production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE).
• Work closely with Quality Assurance and R&D for process improvement and new product development.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
• Coordinate with maintenance on preventive maintenance programs.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies or upgrades to improve productivity.
• Coordinate with supply chain for raw material procurement and inventory control.
