Job summary

Zekelman Industries is seeking a skilled set-up and operator for high-speed equipment with robotic elements used to form or cut steel to precise dimensions. The role is third shift, with hours from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, requiring full-time, on-site attendance and strict adherence to safety rules.

Responsibilities include advanced equipment setup, quality inspection, maintenance support, and participation in continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write English and maintain production records.
• Manufacturing or related industrial experience preferred.
• Ability to perform math, including decimals and fractions.
• Experience with measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, calipers).
• Ability to operate forklift, crane and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Observe all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment.
• Advanced setup and calibration of all equipment.
• Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after running material.
• Record and report any deficiencies in quality to the supervisor/quality department.
• Maintain equipment tooling and tools necessary for job completion.
• Diagnose equipment and quality problems while keeping scrap and delays to a minimum.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean and safe.
• Complete reports related to production, changeovers, and scrap material.
• Assist maintenance in repairs and PM of equipment.
• Participation in continuous improvement programs.
