Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Palletizer Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the automated palletizing system. This role involves setting up troubleshooting machinery, ensuring a consistent product flow, and maintaining a high standard of workplace safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate is a proactive and reliable team member capable of performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Palletizer Operations:

• Operate, set up, and troubleshoot the automatic palletizer to ensure continuous production flow.
• Work collaboratively with the production coordinator to program the palletizer using the correct order labels.
• Monitor and adjust the tape machine, including changing tape rolls and clearing jams, to maintain a smooth operation.

Material Handling & Quality Control:

• Verify that all materials and components are ready and stocked at the start of the shift and throughout the day.
• Manually separate and stack cases, units, or baskets from the conveyor system that are not routed to the palletizer. This requires repetitive lifting of materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Verify that each pallet has the correct label and a consistent number of layers.
• Assist with wrapping and banding pallets to secure products for transport.
• Monitor case counts throughout the shift to ensure the final order quantity is accurate and complete.

Physical Demands and Safety Requirements

• This is a highly physical role that requires standing for a full 10-hour shift.
• Must be able to repetitively lift, move, and carry cases, units, and baskets weighing between 30 and 60 pounds.
• Maintain a pace consistent with production targets, which may require handling approximately 500 cases, units, or baskets per hour.
• Always maintain awareness of your surroundings and be mindful of other personnel and machinery in a loud, fast-paced environment with cement floors.
• Safety is a top priority. The mandatory use of non-slip, steel-toe boots is required at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player with a strong work ethic.
• Knowledge of and the ability to work in a fast-paced packaging environment.
• Certification to operate an electronic pallet jack is considered a plus.
