Job summary

Transco Rail Services in Miles City, MT is looking for a Repair Technician to perform basic repairs on railcar components. Work with a team to follow layouts, blueprints, and schematics while maintaining safety and quality standards.

You’ll use a range of tools including pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes. Physical work, weather exposure, and lifting up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with basic railcar repair and following blueprints or schematics is preferred.
• Ability to read shop drawings and understand layouts for repairs.
• Willingness to learn air brake testing and safety procedures.

You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels.Job Requirements:Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.Able to pass drug screen, physical.What We Offer:Transco strives to be the Employer of Choice.
