Job summary

swipejobs in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician for 3rd shift to monitor production quality, inspect products and raw materials, perform lab testing, and document results. You will work with production teams to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards, with hands-on testing, data entry in Excel, and ongoing learning of new equipment and procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to read a tape measure, including fractional measurements.
Strong math, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Unrestricted color vision.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to push or pull up to 90 pounds during quality testing activities.

Responsibilities

Perform quality inspections on finished products throughout the manufacturing process.
Visually and physically inspect products for print quality, appearance, registration, dimensions, and other critical quality attributes.
Collect product samples from production lines for laboratory testing.
Conduct moisture testing using various testing methods and equipment.
Perform UPC scan quality verification.
Measure glue weights and other product specifications.
Produce color standards and product samples.
Perform COF testing and other required laboratory analyses.
Prepare handmade product samples for functional testing.
Inspect incoming raw materials, including testing wetting tension and optical density.
Complete required laboratory tests, maintain records, and prepare reports.
Enter and maintain documentation using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other systems.
Communicate quality concerns to production operators and supervisors.
Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Assist with raw material acceptance or rejection decisions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Learn new equipment, testing methods, and quality procedures.
Train backup Quality Technicians when required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
