Crucial Link is hiring in Valley City for a 3rd Shift Quality Inspector

Must possess a strong quality background with experience using micrometers, calipers, wet saws, and hardness testers, and be familiar with documenting the test results.

Train on 2nd Shift – 5:00pm – 1:30am
Transition to 3rd Shift – 11:00pm – 7:00am once trained

$19.06/hr to start - eligible for raise, shift diff, and benefits once hired on.

Occasional voluntary Saturday overtime. Temp-to-hire – Hired after approximately 90 days. Must be willing to submit to Nationwide Background Check and Drug Test.

Job Description:

As a Heat Treat Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of heat-treated components produced within our facility. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections throughout the heat treatment process to verify adherence to specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections of components before and after heat treatment.
2. Record inspection results accurately and maintain detailed documentation of all findings.
3. Monitor and enforce compliance with quality standards and procedures during the heat treatment process.
4. Conduct hardness testing, microstructure analysis, and other relevant tests to verify material properties.
5. Identify non-conformities, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth flow of components through the heat treatment process.
7. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety within the heat treat department.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

MACHINES/EQUIPMENT/TOOLS/WORK AIDES: Will be trained on proper use of required machines and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Bending, stooping, standing, walking on hard surfaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
• Ability to work overtime as necessary
• Ability to work in hot environments
• Use hands and arms to operate equipment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Shop environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
