Job summary

US Conec, Ltd. in Hickory, NC is hiring a Production Support Associate for the 3rd shift (Mon-Thurs, 6pm-4am).

You will support manufacturing by preparing, assembling, polishing, inspecting, and measuring molded ferrules to ensure performance and quality. This hands-on role involves working with fiber optic components, data recording in Excel, and collaboration across teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in measurement, quality control, or manufacturing environments.
• Background in fiber optics or electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and math skills to interpret instructions.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for precision work.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fiber optic connectors, ferrules, and assemblies for inspection and testing.
• Perform ferrule length and end-face geometry measurements.
• Conduct initial optical performance testing and report findings.
• Record and document test results in Excel.
• Ensure compliance with safety and company policies.
• Read and follow technical drawings and manuals.
• Operate cable cutting machines to cut ribbons and cables to spec lengths.
• Make precise measurements using micrometers and inspection scopes.
• Maintain lab tools and workspace in a clean, safe condition.
