Job summary

The Recruiting Hive seeks a Shift Supervisor for its Batavia, IL plant to lead a brand-new 3rd shift on a 24/7 schedule. You will direct a dozen operators across several process areas, set batch schedules, verify material inventory, and coordinate inbound tanker unloads.

From the control room you will monitor process systems, ensure compliance with safety standards, document shifts, and plan on-floor tasks while balancing scheduling and reporting duties.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field, or 5+ years leading people in hands-on chemical processing.
• Continuous process chemical experience required; polymers, coatings, plastics, and extrusion backgrounds translate well.
• PSM exposure strongly preferred.
• Shift leadership experience in chemical or similar industrial manufacturing with on-site decision power.
• Background with automated process controls preferred.
• Comfortable split between floor work and desk planning.
• Steady work history showing growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct a crew of roughly a dozen operators across multiple process areas.
• Get ahead of reaction issues and process deviations, and make calls when needed.
• Set batch schedules and verify raw material inventory; coordinate inbound tanker unloads.
• Watch process systems from the control room and enforce standards.
• Document each shift, including batch traceability and deviations.
• Plan manual work like raw material loading, QC sampling, and end-of-run cleanout.
• Own safety, housekeeping, and operating standards for the shift.
