The role involves supporting production through finishing, drilling, tapping, and grinding, with attention to blueprint reading and math skills. Pay is up to $28.00/hr plus a $3.00 shift differential, DOE.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, basic shop math, and strong attention to detail, with the stamina to stand long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Shop Math: fractions, decimals, and convert between metric and standard measurements.
• Blueprint Reading: interpret dimensional layouts and welding/fabrication symbols.
• Physical Stamina: stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Weld Prep & Material Finishing: operate equipment like shot blasters, grinders, or deburring tools to remove dross, mill scale, or rough edges so that metal plates are pristine for primary welders.
• Machining & Modification Tasks: set up and run secondary machines such as drill presses, tapping machines, or CNC saw machines to make smaller modifications to parts.
• Quality & In-Process Inspection: use precision measuring tools—calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet blueprint requirements.
• Fixture Setup & Workpiece Assembly: construct jigs, position components, and perform basic hardware insertion or spot welding to assist primary fabricators.
• Material Handling & Staging: operate overhead cranes and forklifts to transport, flip, or stage heavy steel plates and custom weldments across manufacturing cells.
