Job summary

AkzoNobel in Huron, OH is seeking an Operator III for the 3rd shift to manage daily production tasks, operate complex equipment, and uphold safety and quality standards. You will collect process data, perform basic maintenance, and assist in CI efforts while adhering to DOT and PSM requirements.

The role requires basic chemistry knowledge, ability to read graphs, and the physical capability to lift up to 55 pounds, with a career path within a global paints company.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes.
• Ability to read, interpret, and make decisions in regard to trends, graphs, and charts.
• Understand and operate basic Lab Equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with general tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate highly sophisticated equipment under general supervision.
• Take ownership of production assets and ensure safe operation per procedures.
• Perform daily production tasks, preventative maintenance, data collection, and documentation.
• Report safety, quality, or production issues to Team Leader/Shift Supervisor.
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and safety programs.
