Job description

SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Startup & shutdown of Packaging equipment following Safety & Quality guidelines.
  • Perform the above in a manner to maintain consistent productivity & quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks such as package fill weight, induction seal, bottle code, box code, etc.
  • Keep accurate production & quality records.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the Packaging area.
  • Participate as an active member of the Production Team.
  • Participate in Quality & Productivity improvement efforts.
  • Follow all written & verbal Packaging production priorities for the day & week.
  • Monitor & turn in all production & quality sheets for the shift.
  • Turn in all Quality samples.
  • Inform Production Manager of all personnel issues.
  • Willing to work closely with other Packaging Operators.
  • Complete timesheets for packaging personnel on the shift each day & turn in.
  • Assist in finding coverage for shifts to fill in for absences & vacations.
  • Maintain good working & communication relationships with Maintenance & the Production Driver.
  • Assist in training team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Excellent management and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective verbal, written, listening, & interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts among coworkers.
  • Ability to work well with other departments within the company.
  • Willing to work off shifts, weekends, & holidays if required.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices.
  • Must be self-directed.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment & practices.
