Job summary

System One is seeking a Packaging Operator for the third shift in East Durham, NY 12423. This contract role runs 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 2/2/3 cycle, onsite, with compensation at $26.95 per hour. You will operate automated toothpaste packaging lines and support materials handling and quality checks.

Responsibilities include line maintenance, changeovers, inventory, safety compliance, SAP transactions, and documentation of batch activity to ensure top performance and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, every other weekend.
• Basic computer skills: data entry, email, MS Word and Excel.
• Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred.
• Experience with equipment maintenance and changeovers preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Effective communication with coworkers and management preferred.
• Overtime availability.
• Experience operating pallet jacks or forklifts preferred.
• Accurate math and measurement skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated toothpaste packaging lines up to 450 tubes per minute.
• Handle packaging materials and finished goods.
• Maintain cleanliness of area and equipment.
• Perform autonomous maintenance to keep lines running.
• Assist maintenance tech with preventive maintenance.
• Conduct inventories of packaging materials.
• Perform tasks with focus on safety and compliance.
• Record batch activity and document results in SAP.
• Identify process improvements and cost savings opportunities.
• Follow procedures and batch documentation per GMP.
