Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in flavor, seeks an Operations Technician – 3rd Shift in South Bend, IN. You will set up and run filling/packaging lines, weigh and mix ingredients, and ensure safe, high-quality production with accurate paperwork and downtime tracking.

You will perform changeovers, minor/major repairs, and asset assembly while promoting safety and loss control. Overtime and on-site attendance are required.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate filling/packaging equipment according to procedures.
• Weigh, blend and cook product on mix systems.
• Follow detailed procedures and complete paperwork accurately.
• Perform changes overs, size changes, and minor/major repairs on equipment.
• Monitor equipment through visual checks and sensory evaluation of key components.
• Assemble components for continuous and pre-mix systems and their auxiliary parts.
• Document downtime and machine adjustments.
• Practice loss control of raw and packaging materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up and start automatic filling and packaging equipment, load materials, and package finished goods.
• Weigh, blend and cook products on mix systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and safety practices during production.
• Perform equipment changeovers and minor/major repairs as needed.
• Monitor operation visually and via sensory checks for quality control.
• Assemble equipment components and manage downtime logs.
• Practice loss control for materials and packaging components.
• Collaborate with team to identify process improvements and safety concerns.
