Randstad USA in Chambersburg, PA seeks a versatile Production Floater to support the entire manufacturing process. You will cross-train across raw prep, kettle frying, packaging, and palletizing, ensuring smooth operations and quality control.

About the Role
Are you adaptable, dependable, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a versatile Production Floater to join our team. As a Floater, you will play a crucial role across our entire manufacturing processcross-training and stepping in to support raw material prep, kettle frying, packaging machinery, and palletizing.

Packaging Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate automated packaging machines, scale programs, and seasoning equipment. Perform metal detector checks, monitor bag seals, print date codes, and pack finished products into boxes.
Kettle Operations: Assist with startup, shutdown, and monitoring of kettle frying processes. Change kettle oil, set up slicer heads, and adhere to strict safety standards.
Peeling & Raw Prep: Inspect raw materials, operate raw peeling and conveyor systems, and monitor hopper levels to ensure a steady supply to the frying room.
Stacking & Staging: Hand-stack cases onto pallets according to customer specifications, wrap pallets, apply labels, and move finished inventory to designated shipping lanes.
Quality & Food Safety: Maintain strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP standards, and allergen controls (dairy).
Sanitation & Team Support: Keep equipment and work areas clean and sanitized, assist with daily waste removal, cover team breaks, and accurately log production data.
Ability to cross-train quickly and adapt to different tasks throughout the shift.
Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
Basic mathematical reasoning and problem-solving skills for machine setup and data logging.
Comfort working in a fast-paced, loud, oily, and wet environment with variable temperatures (heat/cold depending on the season).
High attention to detail regarding product quality, packaging labels, and food safety.
Shift Length: 12 hours.
Mobility: Continuous standing, grasping, reaching, pushing, and pulling; frequent walking, stooping, and climbing stairs (15 stairs).
Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently.
Environment: Exposure to moving machinery parts, dairy allergens, and loud noise levels requiring ear protection.

Shirt Requirements: Must wear a Logo-free and Button-free t-shirt. Shorts Policy: If shorts are worn, they must be no shorter than 2 inches from the top of the knee. Footwear: Must wear closed shoes (no sandals, open-back, or open-toe shoes). All footwear must be slip-resistant. Garment Condition: Clothing must be free of holes, tears, or loose threads. Garments must not be fuzzy or loose-fitting. Protective Wear: Hairnets and moustache/beard shields (if applicable) must be worn at all times in production areas. 2. PERSONAL GROOMING & JEWELRY Jewelry Prohibitions: No body piercings, watches, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, wrist/hair ties worn as bracelets, or brooches. Jewelry Exceptions: Plain band rings and medical alerts are the only permitted items. Rings with stones are strictly prohibited. Hands & Nails: No fingernail polish, false fingernails, or acrylics are permitted in production or warehouse areas.
