Job summary

Cranbrook Educational Community is seeking a Security and Safety Officer for the 3rd shift to patrol the Bloomfield Hills campus and respond to emergencies. The role includes vehicle and foot patrols, unlock/lock duties, and traffic control. A high school diploma or GED is required with 1 year of security-related experience preferred.

CPR/First Aid/AED training or completion within 30 days of hire is required. Michigan driver’s license and basic computer skills (Word/Excel) are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of 1 year’s experience preferred in security, safety, loss prevention or similar work background.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens Training required or obtained within 30 days of hiring.
• Knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS), IP based cameras, access control, fire systems and two-way radios preferred.
• General computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• A valid Michigan driver’s license with satisfactory driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Patrol Cranbrook Campus by vehicle and foot and respond to calls for assistance.
• Perform shift specific unlocks and lockups.
• Traffic control and reporting safety concerns or hazards.
• Respond to all campus emergencies.
