3rd Shift - Manufacturing Packaging Operator

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a diligent packaging operator to join our team. You will play a crucial role in our production process by efficiently running packaging machinery, inspecting products, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Our ideal candidate has high attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards at all times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Fill bags or totes to proper weight according to plant and outside agency specifications
  • Ensure that the bags are properly sealed so that no powder is leaking out of seal
  • Stack finished product on pallets in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate good handling of the pallets in transport
  • Properly label product according to instructions including product code, lot number and any special markings
  • Sample product for lab and customer and inspect powder samples for any specks and foreign matter to ensure high quality of product and prevent contamination following Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain proper documentation of product packaged as well as rework and scrap produced to ensure accuracy of records; this includes records for metal detector checks, weight checks, equipment and utensil checks
  • Inspect equipment to ensure it is in top working order, reporting any problems to the maintenance department
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and HACCP Programs for safety of self and others as well as overall compliance
  • Staging ingredients, cleaning your area and assisting fellow employees in cleaning or setting up other areas
  • Clean and sanitize packaging equipment and work area to eliminate contamination sources
  • Conduct proficient CIP and COP processes to ensure cleanliness of equipment
  • Performs general maintenance skills with basic hand tools as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • You must be equipped with strong motivation, organization, time management, and communication skills (both orally and written)
  • You must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Possess effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to distinguish colors is required
  • Ability to give and welcome feedback and contribute to building a positive team spirit.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • You will continually be required to stand, walk, use hands for handling or feeling objects, talk, and use your vision and hearing abilities
  • Regularly, you will be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl, following proper ergonomic principles
  • Periodically, you will need to lift up to 50 pounds, using safe and proper lifting techniques and equipment
  • You will be engaged in repetitive motions including but not limited to tasks associated with unboxing, loading, moving, and packaging product

WHAT WE OFFER

  • 1st Shift (7am-3pm), 2nd Shift (3pm-11pm), 3rd Shift (11pm-7am)
  • Shift differential rate: 2nd Shift ($1 extra per hour), 3rd Shift ($1.50 extra per hour)
