Alleguard is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician in Allentown, PA. The role involves maintaining machines, systems, and facilities to ensure smooth operation, with a $1,000 sign-on bonus for direct candidates.

The technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspect equipment, and ensure environmental and safety compliance while supporting production schedules.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of building systems (electrical, heating, etc.).
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
• Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
• Computer savvy; Information Technology training a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma; vocational school is a plus.
• Professional Certifications (CMRP or HVAC) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines and building systems operating efficiently.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and consult blueprints and manuals for fixes.
• Order parts and materials from catalogs or suppliers.
• Assemble or repair wiring and electrical components and plumbing as needed.
• Comply with environmental and safety policies and regulations.
• Follow all safety programs and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position

Maintenance Technician - $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS (bonus only applicable to direct candidate; agency submissions not eligible)

Job Summary

Performs works involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of the facility in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; boiler making; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Responsibilities

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of the buildings does not deteriorate.
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
• Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
• Compliance with legal environmental and safety requirements of the area.
• Know the environmental aspects of the area and its control.
• Know the environmental impacts associated with their activities.
• Follow all Environmental and Safety policies.
• Comply with procedures, regulations, and instructions of environmental and safety programs.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Position may require periods of intense physical exertion in conditions of low to high temperatures and humidity.
• Position requires the ability to stand, bend, and stretch over extended periods of time during a normal work shift.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8pm-4am
• Flexibility is a must – hours subject to change based on production schedule
