Job summary

Carlisle Companies is seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanical Technician II to maintain and repair mechanical/electrical/boiler systems in a manufacturing setting in Wylie, TX. The role involves capital projects, preventive maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, 2-3 years in maintenance, and experience with rotating hydraulic/pneumatic systems, electrical troubleshooting, and basic PLCs.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years related maintenance experience preferred in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler.
  • Mechanical background with rotating hydraulics and pneumatics; electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Reassemble machines after repair or maintenance.
  • Start machines and observe operation to detect efficiency issues.
  • Inspect damaged parts and report to supervisors.
  • Lubricate or apply materials to parts per procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts per production needs.
  • Dismantle machines for repair.
  • Record maintenance activities and outcomes.
  • Read work orders and specs to identify repair needs.
  • Set up and operate machines and adjust controls.
  • Transport parts and equipment between areas using cranes or dollies.
  • Clean machines and parts with solvents and tools.
  • Perform ongoing preventative maintenance.
  • Repair or replace control devices as needed.
  • Communicate machine issues to vendors/engineers for resolution.
  • Assist with basic electronics/ PLCs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanical Technician II

  • Shift: 3rd Shift
  • Hours: 8:00 PM–4:00 AM
  • Starting Rate: $38.19/hour
  • Shift Differential: $1.00/hour
  • Overtime Differential: $1.50/hour for hours worked over 40 hours/week
Job Summary:

Maintain and repair mechanical/electrical/boiler systems within a manufacturing environment; execute capital projects (installation, dismantling of equipment) and other various maintenance tasks throughout the facility with key knowledge of the equipment and minimum supervision. Expected hours of work 40 hours a week with a varied shift schedule of 8-12 hours per shift with occasional overtime and weekend hours. No travel required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specific procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments according to production
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or
  • Set up and operate machines and adjust controls to regulate
  • Transport machine parts, tools, equipment, and other material between work areas and storage, using cranes, hoists, or dollies.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse in order to maintain machinery and work
  • Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment.
  • Performing ongoing preventative maintenance on facility
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
  • Comply and participate in regulatory, Carlisle, And departmental policies, procedures, and standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS)
  • Articulate to vendors/engineer’s machine issue to resolve technical
  • Assist with basic electronics/ Programmable Logic Controls
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of measuring gauges such as tape measures
  • Knowledge of various hand and power tools
  • Certified to operate a
  • Working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and
  • Ability to obtain Boiler Operator Certification
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding basic math, reading, and writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful conditions
  • Ability to use hand& portable tools, gas and arc welder, forklift, pickup truck, testing equipment, tape measure, computer (shop floor and ERP).
Education and Experience:
  • Required:
    • Education – High School diploma or GED
    • Two to Three (2-3) years related maintenance
    • Previous experience in the following maintenance areas preferred: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler.
    • Mechanical background with rotating Hydraulic and pneumatic. Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels.
  • Exposure to hazardous mechanical, electrical and chemical substances/equipment.
