Job summary

Danfoss in Freeport, IL is seeking a 3rd Shift Machinist to operate and set up conventional, NC, and specialized machines to machine steel and brass parts. The role includes a 10% shift premium for 3rd shift and a comprehensive benefits package. On-site, climate-controlled facility with strong growth opportunities.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, or 1–3 years of relevant training/experience; strong math skills and ability to read safety docs and manuals are essential.

The Impact You'll Make

We have an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift Machinist to join our inclusive team in Freeport, IL. The Machinist will operate and set up conventional, numerical control (NC), and specialized machines and machining centers to accurately machine steel and brass components. The wage range for this position is $27.75 to $29.00 per hour, with an additional 10% shift premium for the 3rd shift.

What We're Looking For

• A high school diploma or GED is required; alternatively, candidates may have one to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Capable of reading and interpreting documents like safety regulations, operating and maintenance manuals, and procedural guides.
• Proficient in performing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across all units of measure, utilizing whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
