We're hiring a Machine Shop Supervisor to run our 3rd shift team. You'll be the one steering the floor overnight: keeping the department safe, on schedule, and staffed right, while building real relationships with the hourly team and union officials you work alongside every night.
Machine Shop Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Run daily operations in the machining department, assigning tasks and setting the workflow for your shift
- Keep the shop safe and clean
- Set daily and project goals and staff work centers to hit productivity targets
- Push continuous improvement in how the department runs
- Coach and train hourly employees, and work through problems as they come up
- Keep information moving clearly between shifts
- Maintain strong relationships with hourly employees and union officers
- Handle performance evaluations, attendance, and disciplinary matters fairly and consistently
- Keep accurate timekeeping records
Machine Shop SupervisorQualifications:
- High school diploma required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in machining
- 2 to 5 years supervising in a manufacturing environment, metalworking preferred
- Previous supervisory experience in a union environment
- Solid knowledge of machining fundamentals, equipment, and processes
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Journeyman Machinist or Tool & Die Maker papers a plus
- Two or four year technical degree in machining a plus
Machine Shop SupervisorAdditional Details:
- Compensation starting at $80,000, plus a 10% shift differential for working 3rd shift
- Location: York, PA, onsite
- Shift: 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
