Turning Operator Metals

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

We are currently seeking a skilled Turning Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation of the CNC Turning Machines and ensures the quality of our metal parts.

Job Type: Full-time, 3rd Shift: 10:55 pm to 07:05 am

Work Location: In person (Gainesville, GA)

Responsibilities:

  • Operating machines
  • Loading and unloading machines
  • Adjusting machine settings
  • Ensuring proper maintenance of machines
  • Cleaning of equipment and tools
  • Performing measurements for quality control
  • Quality inspection
  • Production reporting
  • Following International Automotive Task Force quality standards – IATF 16949
  • Team Work – working in a Team to fulfill daily production goals
  • Escalation of issues to supervisor and manager
  • Following Internal Quality Issues procedure – IQI
  • Ensuring First in – First out
  • Ensuring safety rules and policies are followed
  • Housekeeping – 5S-Standard
  • Other duties assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment: Minimum 1-2 years, desired 3 years or more

  • Good reading comprehension of work instructions
  • Good ability to work in a team environment
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic mechanical background
  • Good knowledge of metal cutting machines

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs.
  • Pushing and Pulling up to 60 lbs. using material handling equipment
  • Constant standing, walking, handling and using fingers
  • Frequent bending and reaching outward
  • Occasional reaching above shoulders, kneeling and squatting
