Job summary

Liberty Diversified International in Golden Valley, MN is seeking an Assistant Machine Operator to safely produce quality corrugated products. You will support machine operators, set up orders, perform quality checks, and help with stacking and communication of issues.

This full-time role reports to a Production Supervisor and involves occasional operation of finishing machines such as gluers, stitchers, slitter, and saw.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 1+ years manufacturing experience.
• Ability to apply math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Must be available for overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support machine operation by assisting with the setup of orders according to customer specifications.
• Assist with quality checks by inspecting first articles and throughout orders to identify issues and ensure quality products.
• Monitor production metrics to accurately track progress of production rates, quality, maintenance needs, and downtime.
• Proactively communicate issues with equipment to leaders and assist with troubleshooting to maximize overall equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Intermittently assist with minor repairs to equipment in partnership with maintenance team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area by following post order cleaning process.
• Follow plant safety processes and procedures outlined for the machine center.
• Other duties, as assigned.

As anAssistantMachine Operator withLiberty Packaging, you will contribute to the growth of our business by being a key player in safely producing quality corrugated products for our customers. You will work within a small group as an assistant operator; in this role, you will support machine operators to maximize machine efficiency by assisting with setting up orders correctly, performing quality checks, stacking orders, and communicating issues. The Assistant Machine Operator role are also occasionally asked toassist in operatingfinishing machines / tasks (gluers, stitchers, slitter, and saw machine operation).

This full-time position will report to a Production Supervisor at our Golden Valley, MN manufacturing facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supportmachineoperationbyassisting with the setup ofordersaccordingto customer specifications,followingorder readinessprocessofefficientlypreparingtheright toolsto complete thejob.


• Assistmachineoperators duringquality checksbyinspectinga first article, andarticles throughout the orderto identifyissues,ensuringquality product,along withmonitoringequipment and raw materials.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• High School diploma orGEDequivalentfrom an accredited institutionor 1+ years manufacturingor comparableexperience inplaceof education.


• Previous experienceapplyingmathskillssuch asaddition, subtraction,multiplication,and division.


• Previous experience reading,following,and/orcompleting detailed work instructions.


• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidaysas required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Experience reading a tape measureto within 1/16\" measurement.


• Experience withcomputerskills such as typing, printing, and data entry.


• Experience within the corrugated industry.


• Experience withoperational excellence orcontinuous improvement programs - Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen Events.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting pay rate for this position is $25.53per hour (if applicable) plus hourly shift differential pay.
