Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Shift Lead Security Officer to oversee security staff, coordinate coverage, and enforce post orders and policies for client sites.

• Investigate complaints and policy violations; document findings and recommendations.

Role:

Security Engineers is seeking a dedicated Shift Lead Security Officer to oversee security officers, coordinate coverage, enforce Post Orders and policies, and provide coaching. The Shift Lead supports patrols, responds to incidents, reviews reports, and coordinates with clients and emergency responders. Sound judgment, clear communication, situational awareness, and composure under pressure are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have or be able to obtain a valid State Security License
• Valid driver's license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company approved driver standards
• Must be at least 18 years old

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct walking and vehicle patrols; identify and report safety concerns
• Monitor access points, verify identification and credentials, and watch surveillance systems
• Perform routine security tasks, including locking and unlocking doors
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security concerns according to protocol; notify management as required
• Maintain accurate activity and incident logs
• Investigate complaints and policy violations; document findings and recommendations

Customer Service & Policy Enforcement

• Assist visitors and employees professionally
• Follow and enforce site-specific Post Orders, security protocols, and SEI and client policies, including smoking, loitering, and parking rules
• Maintain accountability for equipment, keys, access devices, vehicles, and other company assets

Shift Oversight Responsibilities

• Direct security officers during assigned shifts and conduct inspections to verify compliance with duties, Post Orders, policies, and procedures
• Review daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to maintain professional standards
• Coordinate schedules, shift coverage, and overtime to maintain staffing levels
• Serve as the point of contact among security staff, facility management, clients, and emergency responders

Required Skills & Abilities

Minimum

• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
• Weekend availability
• Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to use tablets for reporting

Preferred

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

Minimum Physical Requirements With or without reasonable accommodation; subject to client-specific needs.

• Stand or sit for at least 1 hour without a break
• Walk at least ½ mile without stopping
• Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping

Education & Experience

Minimum

High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• 1+ years of verifiable military, law enforcement, or security experience
• 2+ years of verifiable customer service experience
