Job summary

Central Plains Steel Co. is seeking a Laser Operator for full-time night shifts (4x10s) at Plant 2 in Wichita, KS. You will cut sheet metal on laser machines, work with programming and parts teams, and strive for safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 60 pounds repetitively.
Must meet Level 4 (Heavy Work) capacity.
0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

Review and follow blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
Set up laser cutting unit for safe operation by selecting appropriate nozzles, speeds, and feeds.
Position work pieces for processing and operate laser machines as required based on workload.
Perform quality control inspections during processing and finished product stages.
Move material using forklift, side loader, or crane and complete paperwork.
Adhere to safety and quality standards and report irregularities to supervisor.
