Job summary

JusticePoint in Ramsey County is seeking a Jail Screening Specialist for the 3rd shift (9pm–7am) to interview and assess inmates at the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center. You will prepare objective reports for court, prosecution, and defense detailing risk and release recommendations.

The role may involve assisting with pretrial release and identifying candidates for Diversion agreements, along with Release Preparation and Delegated Release Authority responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required as listed in the job posting.
• Pre-employment background check conducted by Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
• Valid Minnesota or Wisconsin driver’s license and automobile with insurance required.
• Obtain Certified Pretrial Services Professional certification within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews and assessments of inmates in the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center.
• Provide detailed and objective reports to the Court, Prosecution, and Defense including assessed risk level and release recommendations.
• Assist in releasing individuals from custody to pretrial supervision and identifying Diversion-eligible individuals.
• Provide Release Preparation support and may hold Delegated Release Authority.

Education

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field
