Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. in McDonough, GA, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to maintain accurate inventory, perform cycle counts, and support daily warehouse operations.

You will work with leadership to implement inventory procedures, run reports, and participate in physical inventories while adhering to safety guidelines. The role involves stocking, selecting, and moving product in a cold storage environment with teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous inventory experience required.
  • Forklift training preferred.
  • General understanding of warehousing.

Responsibilities

  • Solve inventory discrepancies to ensure efficient workflow and communicate with leadership.
  • Oversee planning, development and implementation of inventory procedures to meet customer requirements.
  • Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventories and oversee customer projects as necessary.
  • Perform cycle counts, work orders, and other inventory checks to address inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and correct discrepancies in the system.
  • Coordinate with departments during audits, inspections, or visits.
  • Assist in customer hold procedures including labeling and daily cycle counts.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and take corrective action using reports.
  • Prepare inventory reports for customers and facility needs.
  • Operate equipment at heights with fall protection as needed.
  • Recover pallets correctly seated on racks and assist in escalated situations.

The Job Details
  • Solve inventory discrepancies to ensure efficient workflow and communicate with leadership.
  • Work with leadership to oversee the planning, development and implementation of all inventory procedures and activities required to meet customer requirements.
  • Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventories and oversee any customer projects or requests as necessary.
  • Perform cycle counts, work orders, and other inventory checks to answer customer inquiries or investigations
  • Responsible for the entry or update of inventory records in our system to correct discrepancies.
  • Act as a liaison for any warehouse related needs regarding internal or external audits or customer and agency visits.
  • Responsible for performing any customer hold procedures including labeling, relocating, and daily cycle count checks.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and take corrective action by utilizing hold reports, lot audits reports, and inventory aging reports.
  • Prepare inventory reports for customers and/or facility needs.
  • Operate equipment at elevated heights that may require fall protection to help rescue cases or pallets.
  • Recover pallets that are improperly seated on the rack.
  • Called upon to assist in escalated or critical need situations across departments.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies to Customer Accounts and other departments as necessary.
  • Conduct storage area walk throughs and prepare corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage the destruction process for exposed or damaged product.
  • Perform Warehouse Associate duties as needed.

What We Are Looking For

The Ideal candidate will have or be able to complete the below qualifications.

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Experience:
  • Preferred forklift training and general understanding of warehousing
  • Previous inventory experience required

  • May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or standing, walking, using stairs, and lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Effective communication, vision, and hearing are essential for safety and productivity.
  • Operate scanners, tablets, radios, phones, computers, and other essential warehouse equipment as required
  • Additional work hours may be requested by management to help manage employee production, projects, and or special events.
  • Operate a registered motor vehicle if apart of daily tasks.
  • Engage in frequent personal interaction and communication.
  • Possess strong arithmetic and reading skills.
  • Follow verbal instructions, written instructions, and company policies.
  • Be a self-starter, able to work independently and coordinate with others.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing stress and meeting productivity guidelines.
