Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Byesville, OH is seeking an associate to prep HDEP Series heavy-duty diesel heads for assembly, perform visual inspection, and use hand and air tools to install parts.

You will read work instructions, follow rotation plans, and support continuous improvement while contributing to a safe, clean work area. Starting pay is $20.70 per hour with up to $29.21 per hour, plus quarterly bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools.
• Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Must maintain a clean work area and meet quality standards.
• Cross train on other jobs as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate jigs, fixtures, hoists and air tools to prep and assemble heavy-duty components.
• Identify and verify component parts using numbers and BOMs.
• Follow Work Station Instructions and production rotation plan.
• Contribute to safety, quality, attendance and productivity improvements.
• Access company data via computer systems for drawings and specs.

Inside the Role

This position is responsible for the prepping of HDEP Series heavy duty diesel cylinder heads for assembly by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for prepping head before being sent to assembly, performing visual inspection of product to meet established quality standards, using various hand & air tools, and installing various parts such as freeze plugs, & pipe plugs. What You Drive at DTNA

• Operating Rottler seat cutting machine, air tools, impact wrenches, multi press horizontal hydraulic presses, dial gauges, and battery-operated torque wrenches.
• Use of pallet jack & hoist
• Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
• Adhere to established work rotation plan
• Complete training matrix for each rotation position
• Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
• Other tasks and/or duties as requested
• Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
• Install and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks
• Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
• Operate the following tools and equipment: jigs and fixtures, hoist, air tools, hand tools, grinders

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
• Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds
• Must maintain a clean work area.
• Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
• Previous mechanical experience
• High School Diploma / GED is preferred and further college education a plus
