Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Roll Maintenance Mechanical Assembler in Aiken, SC for a 3rd shift. The role involves assembling and disassembling gearboxes, installing and aligning subassemblies, and operating boring bar, drill press, milling and honing equipment.

Qualifications

• High school education with 3–5 years in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of papermaking machinery is a plus.
• Willing to train candidates with initiative and motivation.
• Experience working with large, heavy manufacturing equipment and overhead cranes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and disassemble gearboxes and subassemblies.
• Install, align, adjust, and fit subassemblies.
• Set up and operate boring bar, drill press, milling and honing machines.
• Apply inspection techniques to ensure quality and identify improvements.
