About The Role

The Forklift Drivers are responsible for picking up completed pallets of product from the production line and placing them in the correct warehouse areas based on the order. They also handle hand wrapping pallets from the Shortening Line and Super Sacks line before storing them. Additionally, they replace supplies as needed and ensure forklifts are charged before breaks and at the end of shifts.

Responsibilities

Safety & Environmental Performance

• Use of horn, strobe lights, and safety precautions to prevent injuries
• Retrain on forklift equipment periodically or as needed
• Follow GMP policies including safety glasses, seatbelts, etc.
• Identify and remedy high-risk safety or productivity issues
• Support plant-wide safety compliance and encourage reporting and near misses
• Promote safety and productivity improvements among employees

Work Requirements

• Drive forklift to pick up and transport pallets and products
• Wrap and store products from various lines
• Pull customer orders and load trucks
• Move products to optimize space and operate scanners
• Assist in receiving as needed

Cost Control

• Seek ways to save company money
• Participate in process improvements and adhere to guidelines to reduce rework and waste
