Job summary

EK Machine is seeking a supervisor for the fabrication department. The role leads 3rd shift personnel, programs and operates fabricating machines, and ensures compliance with specifications.

The candidate will train new shop staff, log machine activity, and document inspection data while maintaining a safe, organized work area. Key duties include coordinating with the Fabrication Manager, managing workloads, and verifying part conformance across metallic and non-metallic materials.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent or 3–5 years related experience or training; High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to present information to groups of managers, clients, customers; write routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide; calculate rates and percentages.
• Reasoning: solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Physical demands include lifting up to 80 pounds and frequent standing.
• Ability to read and understand safety procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Programs, sets up, and operates all machines.
• Prepares workload for the machines for 3rd shift as instructed by management.
• Communicates with Fabrication Manager and supervisory personnel on 1st shift; reports employee performance.
• Verifies conformance of workpieces to specifications.
• Understands fabrication of metallic and non-metallic materials.
• Instructs 3rd shift personnel to log in/out and light curtain on each machine.
• Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data.
• Cleans and organizes the work area.
• Leads 3rd shift in the Fabrication Department; trains staff; plans, assigns, and directs work; reports issues to Fabrication Manager.
