Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for working independently to prepare food, fry, package, display, and stock deli products; to ensure that you contribute to the financial best interest of the store. Additionally, this role is responsible for meeting company guidelines for guest experience, as well as complying with company safety and food safety standards.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

1. Prepare and produce deli products according to production planner
2. Package and label deli products per program plan
3. Merchandise deli products according to flight plan/merchandising expectations
4. Stock backroom with deli products, rotating and dating cases/buckets
5. Work as a team with other departments and stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash retail stores
6. Notify the Deli Manager when products and supplies need to be ordered
7. Understand basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
8. Communicate tasks, recipes, weights, measures, and cleaning steps to other associates
9. Follow all PPE and safety guidelines
10. Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations
11. Follow guest experience guidelines
12. Perform tasks in other departments as needed based on customer experience
13. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Here’s What You’ll Need:

• High school diploma (GED) preferred
• One year of retail or related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail-oriented

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands include lifting/moving up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning are required. The environment may vary in temperature and noise level, with exposure to outside weather conditions. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
