Job summary

Township High School District 214 is seeking an Anticipated Custodian I for the 3rd shift (CM) with an initial location at PHS. The role is 40 hours per week with a 12-month assignment, starting September 25, 2026.

Responsibilities include cleaning, moving equipment, and setup for programs while maintaining a safe, clean school environment. Must lift up to 40 lbs frequently and 80 lbs occasionally, work in various weather, and follow all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public.
• Must understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must use prescribed safety and PPE when required.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs frequently and 80 lbs occasionally.
• Must perform heavy physical labor in varied weather conditions.
• Must climb stairs and ladders regularly and work from scaffolding occasionally.
• Must operate cleaning equipment and sanitize building areas.
• Must report safety concerns and needed repairs to supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Perform general custodial duties to maintain a safe, clean educational environment.
• Move student equipment and set up for programs and activities.
• Participate in district training to maintain knowledge and licenses as required.
• Monitor building systems and equipment and report issues in writing to supervisor.
• Snow removal and salting on an occasional basis.
• Ensure programs and activities run smoothly by timely preparation and breakdown.
