DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Custodian – 3rd shift to join our team specializing in Facilities for our Cummins Inc. facility in Mineral Point, WI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Ensure Operational Efficiency: By performing routine maintenance and repairs, you'll keep facility equipment and property structures in optimal condition, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations.
Enhance Safety: Your focus on maintaining safe work habits and addressing safety concerns will create a safer work environment for everyone, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
Improve Maintenance Processes: Utilizing software to track and prioritize maintenance tasks will streamline workflows, making the maintenance process more efficient and effective.
Support Inventory Management: By ordering supplies and managing spare parts inventories, you'll ensure that necessary materials are always available, preventing delays in maintenance activities.
Adapt to Various Conditions: Your ability to perform work in diverse conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture, will demonstrate your versatility and reliability in maintaining the facility under any circumstances.
Maintain Cleanliness and Order: Keeping work areas clean and safe, including exterior yard upkeep, will contribute to a well-maintained and professional-looking facility.
Conduct Minor Repairs: Your skills in performing minor repairs, such as plumbing, floor repair, and wall patching, will address immediate issues and prevent them from escalating into larger problems.
Operate and Maintain Equipment: By effectively operating and maintaining vehicle equipment and powered hand tools, you'll ensure that these tools are always ready for use, supporting various maintenance tasks efficiently.

Demonstrate Technical Skills: Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical and HVAC systems to ensure the facility operates properly. Your technical expertise will be vital in maintaining essential systems.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
Experience:
Minimal or no work experience required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Custodians: Local Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of lunchroom and equipment.
Inventory, order and storage of janitorial supplies.
Clean and upkeep plant restrooms, offices and all areas.
Clean and upkeep of locker room and display areas.
Maintain and upkeep plant floors, recyclables and trash.
Operation of powered scrubber and sweeper.
Maintain and upkeep of facility grounds.
Winter duties - snow shoveling, salting, etc.
General cleaning, painting, misc. equipment maintenance.
Perform other duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.
