Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, NC is seeking an assembler for the 3rd shift to perform safe, defect-free assembly of components following documented procedures. You will apply lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and work with power tools to move heavy parts.

Qualifications

6 months of previous work experience.
Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
Able to perform repetitive operations and lift up to 35 lbs.
Prior experience with hand tools or power tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

Follow documented procedures to perform safe and defect-free assembly and adjustment of parts and components.
Leverage lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.
Use industrial power tools for assembly and lifting devices to move heavy components.
Be held accountable for completing standard work within the allotted cycle time (approximately 3–15-minute cycle time).
Cross-train across work areas and ability to learn new work areas.
