Avery Village Senior Living is seeking a Full-time/Part-time Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our Resident Care team. We value devoted, compassionate individuals who work well independently and as part of a team to ensure our residents receive dignity, respect, and quality of life daily.

This role administers medications, monitors health, assists with ADLs, and communicates with families and healthcare professionals to maintain a safe, supportive environment they are proud to call home.

Qualifications

  • Active CMA certification is required.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in assisted living, memory care, or long-term care preferable.
  • Knowledge of safe medication administration procedures.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications safely and accurately per physician orders.
  • Document medication administration and treatments in MAR/eMAR.
  • Monitor residents for changes and report concerns promptly.
  • Assist with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, Toileting, mobility, and transfers.
  • Take vital signs, weights, and health observations.
  • Maintain secure storage and accountability of medications.
  • Respond to emergencies or incidents.
  • Provide dementia/memory care support with patient, compassionate care.
  • Communicate with residents, families, pharmacy providers, and staff.
  • Assist with meal service and hydration support.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming living environment.
  • Follow policies, infection control, safety standards, and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and leadership for continuity of care.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings.

Job description

Avery Village Senior Living is currently seeking a Full-time/Part-time Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our Resident Care team. We are looking for an individual who is devoted, compassionate, self-motivated, and passionate about their chosen career.

This position plays a vital role in the health, safety, comfort, and overall well-being of our residents while helping create a warm and supportive environment they are proud to call home.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders and established medication administration procedures
  • Document medication administration and treatments thoroughly and accurately within resident records and MAR/eMAR systems
  • Monitor residents for changes in physical, emotional, behavioral, or cognitive condition and report concerns immediately to appropriate leadership
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility assistance, and transfers as needed
  • Take and document vital signs, weights, and additional health observations when required
  • Maintain proper storage, handling, security, and accountability of all medications
  • Respond appropriately and efficiently to resident emergencies or incidents
  • Support residents living with dementia and memory-related conditions through patient, compassionate, person-centered care
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, pharmacy providers, healthcare professionals, and fellow team members
  • Assist with meal service, hydration support, and resident comfort when needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming living environment
  • Follow all community policies, infection control procedures, safety standards, and state regulations
  • Work collaboratively with caregivers and leadership to ensure continuity of excellent resident care
  • Participate in required training, continuing education, and staff meetings

QUALIFICATIONS OF A MED-TECH:
  • Must hold an active State Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in assisted living, senior living, memory care, or long-term care preferred
  • Knowledge of safe medication administration procedures and documentation requirements
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Ability to lift, assist, transfer, bend, stand, and physically assist residents throughout shift
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining a strong and dependable team player
