Job summary

DATTCO, Inc. is hiring a full-time 3rd shift Bus Cleaner at our Coach and Tour Fleet Maintenance location in New Britain, CT. The role supports daily operations by thoroughly cleaning and preparing motorcoach buses for passengers.

You'll inspect interiors, wash exteriors, refuel as needed, and report any maintenance or safety concerns. The position requires 18+ and a CT driver's license, with overtime opportunities and a competitive benefits package.

• Ability to pass a Human Performance Evaluation and drug screening.
• Safety-sensitive position with random drug testing per FTA regulations.

Responsibilities

DATTCO currently has a full-time 3rd shift Bus Cleaner opening at our Coach and Tour Fleet Maintenance location in New Britain, CT!

• Hourly Rate: $21.50–$22.50/hr
  • Additional Rate(s): overtime opportunities
• Schedule: 8pm-4:30am, Thursday-Monday
  • Scheduled days off: Tuesday + Wednesday
  • May require overtime depending on business needs.
  • This schedule is subject to change depending on business needs.

What You’ll Do:

• Thoroughly clean and prepare motorcoach buses to ensure a safe, comfortable, and professional experience for passengers.
• Inspect and clean luggage bays, overhead storage compartments, passenger seating areas, windows, and flooring.
• Empty trash receptacles and remove debris from the interior of vehicles.
• Sweep, brush, vacuum, and mop bus interiors as needed to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Sanitize floors, handrails, fixtures, and other high touch surfaces using approved cleaning products.
• Wash and clean the exterior of motorcoaches, including windows, mirrors, and body surfaces.
• Conduct visual inspections while cleaning and report any maintenance, safety, or damage concerns to management.
• Refuel motorcoaches as needed and follow established fueling and safety procedures.
• Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and support fleet readiness to ensure vehicles are available for scheduled service.

Requirements:

• 18+ years old.
• Valid Connecticut Driver's License required.
• Ability to successfully complete a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), physical examination, background investigation, and drug screening prior to employment.
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver large vehicles, including double decker buses, throughout the facility.
• Ability to pass an in yard driving assessment on all company vehicle types.
• Ability to operate fueling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to identify and report vehicle damage, maintenance concerns, or safety issues.
• Attention: This is a safety-sensitive position, as defined by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and requires participation in a random drug and alcohol testing program, including testing for prohibited substances such as recreational marijuana.

Experience:

• Previous vehicle cleaning, janitorial, detailing, transportation, or facilities maintenance experience is a plus, but not required.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to safety and following established cleaning, fueling, and workplace procedures.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to enter and exit motorcoaches multiple times throughout the shift.
• Ability to work around cleaning chemicals, fuels, and mechanical equipment while following safety guidelines.
• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
