Job summary

Pilgrim's is seeking an Ammonia Refrigeration Technician for the 3rd shift (5:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.) to maintain and service ammonia refrigeration systems and plant utilities. Responsibilities include boilers, air compressors, pumps, motors, and safety documentation under the PSM program.

The role requires strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, the ability to read schematics, and willingness to obtain Hazmat Responder Certification as part of a safety-focused team.

Qualifications

• RETA Certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Able to read and understand mechanical/electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with screw and reciprocating compressors, HVAC units, boilers, and pumps.
• Willing to acquire Hazmat Responder Certification and join the Hazmat team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain refrigeration equipment and plant utilities including boilers and air compressors.
• Document repairs and PM activities; keep PSM paperwork up to date.
• Perform PMs on compressors, boilers, and related equipment.
• Communicate production information to Maintenance Management and team.
• Keep work area neat and safe; use PPE as required.
• Be available for weekend or additional shift work as needed.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and Hazmat requirements.
