Job summary

SCN BestCo is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to keep manufacturing equipment Running efficiently in Santa Cruz, CA. You will support production, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues and assist with installations, while documenting time and parts daily.

You will join a team focused on reliability, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a modern manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of mechanical maintenance experience in the food processing industry.
• 1 year of mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic troubleshooting experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook.
• Knowledge of basic mechanics, welding techniques and capable of utilizing standard shop equipment.
• Ability to read and understand manuals, blueprints, engineer designs and complex schematics.
• Strong time management, communication, teamwork, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to Production department along with other departments, as needed.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and other equipment in the facility.
• Troubleshoot all manufacturing equipment and related issues and follow up as needed.
• Support the installation and startup of new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain a daily record of time and parts involved with assignments.
• Collaborate with other mechanics, electricians, production workers and other staff to promptly resolve maintenance issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
• Utilize the CMMS and Microsoft applications for documentation of work.

The Maintenance Mechanic I ensures manufacturing equipment is operating efficiently for maximum production capability. Provides
maintenance support for the production department and performs scheduled preventative maintenance, work orders, rebuilds and
related repairs on manufacturing equipment and other equipment in the facility. The Maintenance Mechanic I maintains daily
records of time and parts involved with assignments and assists other maintenance personnel with repairs, projects, and work
orders whenever necessary.

Estimated starting annual base salary is $35.91 per hour less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary, variable annual incentive, paid based on Company performance factors. Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical fabrication and/or basic IT help desk experience.
• Nutraceutical or pharmaceutical production industry experience.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires
standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or
move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
