Job summary

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED.
• Certification: Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
• Must pass MISD paraprofessional test.
• 48 College Hours/Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises with individuals or small groups.
• Supervise scholars inside and outside the classroom (lunchroom, bus, playground).
• Inform teacher of special needs or problems of scholars.
• Attend staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
