Job summary

Acadian Contractors, Inc. is seeking a skilled 3G/4G Structural Welder to join our shop team in Abbeville, LA. The welder will perform FCAW welds (self-shielded and gas-shielded) on structural steel, following WPS, and producing code-quality welds in 3G/4G positions.

The role requires reading fabrication drawings, weld maps, and symbols, maintaining correct interpass temperatures, and adhering to safety and QA procedures. A2D1.1 qualification and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• 3G/4G FCAW welding qualification required.
• Minimum 2 years FCAW welding in a production setting.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Produce groove welds in 3G/4G positions using FCAW per WPS.
• Maintain machine setup: voltage, amperage, wire feed, gas flow.
• Weld fillets in various positions per drawings and maps.
• Read and interpret weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper documentation.
