Job summary

Zebra Technologies in Buffalo Grove, IL is seeking a 3D Vision/Robotics Field Application Engineer to serve as the technical liaison for customers and sales, performing PoC analyses and on-site testing with Photoneo and Zebra products.

You will define the right Photoneo solution for each application, gather customer feedback for product management, and contribute to training, documentation, and knowledge sharing with the R&D team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation or robotics
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
• Experience as a Field/Application/Deployment Engineer or similar role
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• Ability to grasp complex technical scopes quickly
• Willingness to learn and research beyond current knowledge
• Understanding of basic programming/mathematical concepts welcomed

3D Vision/Robotics Field Application Engineer is a key person in the specification process of new projects. Every customer has a different project assignment and your role will be to accomplish the scope with Photoneo technology.

We are looking for a Professional in industrial automation, willing to become an advanced user of Photoneo products. On your daily tasks, you will be accompanied by the team of skilled technical consultants, application engineers and backed by the ultimate R&D team. Person in this role is the main technical contact for our sales representatives and customers, performing Proof of Concept analyses, on-site testing at customer premises, collecting and sharing customer needs with the product management team and greatly contributing to product development.

$95,000 - $110,000 annually

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience (work/school projects) in industrial automation or robotics
• Preferred experience also with machine vision, Linux OS, CAD; (having these as a hobby also counts)
• Previous experience as an Application/System/Deployment/Field Engineer or a similar role
• Ability to quickly comprehend and grasp the intricate technical scope of a project or task
• Friendly customer approach and good communication skill
• Ownership and independence in solving problems, ability to gain and search for information externally and internally
• Fluency in English, any other additional language is an advantage
• Motivated by problem solving, and willing to research beyond own knowledge - Fast and eager learner
• Knowing basic programming and mathematical concepts is welcomed
