Job summary

KingRecruitingServices in New York, NY is seeking an Associate 3D Technical Designer for Children’s Apparel to develop and maintain fit, construction, and quality across our licensed lines.

Responsibilities include creating style spec packages, leading fit sessions, communicating measurements to vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety requirements. The role requires hands-on office work five days a week and a strong knowledge of knit and woven construction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in children's apparel or related field.
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar.
• Familiar with measuring sample points to ensure tolerance.
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction.
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction.
• Understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Word; Illustrator a plus.

• Ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements with Production/Compliance Depts.
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern, and construction.

Associate 3D Technical Designer – Children’s Apparel

Job Description

An established Wholesale Manufacturer of branded and licensed children’s apparel in NYC is looking to fill a Technical Design position. The Technical Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent level of quality and fit for Children’s Apparel.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality
• Create spec packages for each style including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details
• Accurate measurement and evaluation of development, proto samples for spec, quality & workmanship
• Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and Production Depts
• Communicate measurement, construction and workmanship comments to vendors, including providing detailed explanations, diagrams and/or patterns as needed
• Work with Production and Compliance Depts to ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements
• Answer questions via email regarding fit, specs, pattern and construction as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years relevant experience, children swear experience
• Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar software.
• Familiar with measuring sample points of measurement to ensure submitted samples are within tolerance of required specifications
• Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction
• Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology and garment construction
• Have understanding of garment manufacturing and product development process
• Proficient in the use of Excel and MS Word; knowledge of Illustrator a plus
• Must be willing to work in the office 5 days/week.
