Standard Iron is seeking an experienced Structural Machinist / Peddinghaus Operator to run a brand-new, state-of-the-art Peddinghaus processing system for structural steel fabrication. You will interpret 3D models and shop drawings, verify materials and tooling, and ensure high-quality components through precise setup and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to learn advanced 3D manufacturing techniques.

Qualifications

• Machinist mindset with mechanical aptitude and curiosity.
• Experience with CNC machining, structural steel, and fabrication preferred.
• Willingness to learn and optimize new systems and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up a new-generation Peddinghaus structural processing system.
• Learn 3D machining and structural steel processing techniques.
• Interpret 3D models, drawings, and digital production data.
• Verify materials, tooling, programs, and processing requirements.
• Perform machine setup and adjust to optimize production.
• Inspect finished components for accuracy and quality.
• Troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and material issues.
• Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to resolve challenges.
• Help develop procedures and best practices for the new system.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and utilization.
• Perform routine maintenance and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
