We are seeking a new 3D Generalist/Industrial Designer who will assist in the creation of a variety of assets for print, retail, and digital applications. The ideal candidate is an organized problem solver who is passionate about creating exceptional, cutting-edge 3D, graphic, and environmental work. This role will work with a team of designers to build assets that match supplied specifications and maintain client brand standards.

As a 3D Generalist/Industrial Designer at WORKSHOP, you will play an integral role in executing successful and impactful campaigns on behalf of our clients. Preferred qualifications include:

  • 2-5 years of agency or relevant professional experience
  • Experience in concepting and designing assets for retail environments, including fixtures, environmental graphics, experiential touchpoints, and full-scale environments.
  • Experience with fabrication, including conceptualization and prototyping.
  • Experience with MacOS, Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AfterEffects and others as needed), Figma, Rhino, Sketchup, Blender, Cinema 4D, TwinMotion, and Unity (or similar 3D software and visualization engines).
  • Comfortability working within existing brand standards, including with logos, color systems, and typography (knowledge of print production and preflight experience is a plus).
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to create in partnership with designers, project managers, and creative leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to discuss design rationale with team members and partners as needed.
  • Experience and comfort in interpreting and applying feedback from clients and partners (both internal and external).

This position reports to the Creative Director at WORKSHOP. While day-to-day responsibilities evolve and change regularly at WORKSHOP, key responsibilities for this role will likely include:

  • Concepting and developing a wide variety of 3D assets, including standalone fixtures, full-scale retail environments, environmental graphics, and more.
  • Reviewing and evolving existing 3D designs and files.
  • Integrating 2D graphics into 3D designs.
  • Developing playbooks and guidelines for retail environments.
  • Participating in spec and exploratory work, including large-scale activations and environments, augmented reality experiences, digital activations and more.
  • Communicating frequently with the creative director, design lead, project managers, production managers, and other partners; ensuring timelines and internal milestones are adhered to.

Please send a copy of your resume and portfolio link to carrie@workshop.com. In your email, please briefly introduce yourself and describe why you think this position is a good fit for your skills and interests.
