Job summary

QTS is seeking a skilled 3D Designer to lead in-house modeling for marketing and design teams, creating 3D models, textures, and environments of architectural buildings and customer solutions. You will integrate renders with photography and collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Marketing and Design to tell compelling visual stories.

Qualifications

BFA in industrial design, architectural design, exhibit design, interior or equivalent.
1-3 years of industry experience.
Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
Proficiency in Enscape, Lumion, Twin Motion, 3DS Max, Blender and Varth is required.

Responsibilities

Develop architectural renderings for projects in various design stages.
Ensure presentations communicate design solutions in 3D, visualization, and rendered output.
Rapid ideation via sketches and reference imagery, and develop design models.

Work with writers and video producers to deliver holistic creative solutions.
Manage multiple projects and balance timelines.

SUMMARY

The 3D Designer will play an integral role by providing in-house modeling discipline in partnership with the Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Design teams. This role is crucial to external marketing through visualizations of our expansive campuses and world class facilities. This position will lead efforts to create 3D models, textures, and 3D environments of architectural buildings and customer solutions and integrate renders into photography using perspective matching and photo compositing skills. RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned

Gain a deep understanding of visualization and rendering mission for external and internal efforts and build a strategy for creating impactful assets around that mission.
Developing architectural renderings for projects in various stages of design.
Ensure presentations deliver the objectives of the mission and clearly articulate design solutions in 3D, visualization, and/or rendered output.
Rapidly generate ideation via sketches (digital or analog) research and reference images and design models
Work with graphic designers to integrate with graphic applications
Work comfortably alongside writers, video producers, and other members of the creative team, in order to deliver a holistic creative solution
Manage time and balance multiple projects
Be able to present your ideas eloquently and with poise and confidence to develop a partnership with your internal and external clients
Responsible for a project from start to ship including managing presentations, working with the internal or external customer, visualization design, and production
Work closely with leadership throughout production and clearly articulate creative concepts that can be produced on time
Manage the handoff of assets to other media channels as appropriate
Present and check in with the Creative Director throughout the duration of the project
Inspire the team through energy and optimism, pushing the envelope to advance the program and its goals
To be able to work in a large, complex, and collaborative environment while still maintaining an independent mind
To be able to work directly with leadership to understand audiences and communication needs, mediums, and mission

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BFA in industrial design, architectural design, exhibit design, interior or equivalent
1-3 years of industry experience
Understanding of technologies, materials & techniques
Experience in the architecture, design, construction industries
Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
Proficiency in one or more of the following is required: Enscape, Lumion, Twin Motion, 3DSMax, Blender and V-Ray

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to understand the brand and the creative mission at its core and then translate it into other experiential mediums
Exceptional design aesthetics and ability to constantly adapt to meet a breadth of a growing set of styles and mediums, including rendering, visualization, video, digital, and storytelling
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills across all mediums
High performance/high productivity mentality
Skilled in analytical thinking, modeling and rendering to support the design process

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Rendering and visualization skills
Animation capabilities are a plus
Understanding of photography and image manipulation techniques
Knowledge of various visualization and rendering software and ability to make recommendations
