Job summary

DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, WA is seeking a Student TA for CG-2001 – 3D Digital Art. You will assist the instructor, support students during lectures and labs, and help with equipment and materials.

The TA will hold regular sessions outside class time, help troubleshoot technical issues, and provide feedback to the instructor on student progress and course needs. This role is limited to current DigiPen students with CG-2001 coursework.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of CG-2001 or equivalent coursework with a strong understanding of the course material.
• Working knowledge of the 3D modeling and digital art tools (Maya and Substance 3D Painter) and workflows used in CG-2001.
• Ability to clearly explain technical and artistic concepts to other students. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and able to attend the scheduled class and TA sessions consistently.
• Patient and comfortable working with students with different levels of experience and technical ability.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the instructor regarding student progress, recurring issues, and course needs.

Responsibilities

• Attend the scheduled CG-2001 class and assist the instructor during lectures, demonstrations, and lab activities.
• Assist with classroom setup as needed, including preparing equipment, course materials, and presentation slides.
• Provide individual assistance to students during lab/work time and help answer questions related to course assignments, techniques, and software.
• Help students troubleshoot common technical and workflow issues related to the course.
• Assist the instructor with attendance and other classroom activities as needed.
• Meet regularly with the instructor to discuss course progress, student needs, and areas where additional support may be helpful.
• Hold two scheduled TA sessions per week outside regular class time to provide additional support to students enrolled in this section. Sessions may be scheduled on weekdays and/or weekends.
• Provide appropriate guidance during TA sessions while encouraging students to develop their own problem-solving skills and complete their own work.
• Provide the instructor with weekly feedback regarding common student questions, difficulties, and areas where students may need additional instruction or clarification.
• Participate in a semester evaluation and provide feedback on the TA experience and course support.
